I bought this book for an art appreciation class I was taking. The course required the 10th edition but rather than spend $120 I bought the 9th edition for $25. It worked just fine. Towards the end of the class (specifically chapters 21-25) things got a little mixed up. When the assignment called for chapter 23 reading and critique of specific works therein I was unable to locate them in that chapter. They were in previous chapters. So a little creative navigating fixed the problem. The content was very interesting and I learned a great deal. For anyone who is looking at the 10th edition I suggest you save $100 and buy the 9th, just be prepared to search a little at the end of the book.
